Allegheny Driving School provides Behind-the-Wheel lessons with only one student in the car at a time. During these on the road lessons, the student will receive formal instruction with a strong focus on driver safety and defensive driving techniques. Our lesson plans cover the dozens of topics that the Pennsylvania Department of Education has highlighted in its “Driver Education Content and Performance Expectations” manual. We will place the student in many different scenarios to include rural, city and suburban settings, interstate highways and of course we will cover parallel and perpendicular parking.
We offer 90 minute lessons to fit your schedule. For teenage students to earn a Certificate of Completion, it is required that the student receive a minimum of six hours of behind-the-wheel training. With the Certificate of Completion, and a Driver Education Classroom Theory course, many auto insurance companies will offer a discount of 10%-20% off the teens insurance rate. This discount can last up to the student's 21st birthday. With these savings, the lessons will pay for themselves!
For students who have completed the 6-hour course, they can elect to take their driving test in our vehicle. This Test Day Service has proven to provide the best results on test day. We will provide transportation to the DMV if necessary, we will review all topics that the student will be tested on, practice parallel parking and all driving maneuvers that the student will encounter on the test!
* We also offer other services including refresher lessons, magistrate ordered check rides and we can even do a check ride to help you retain your license if your Medical Doctor has concerns for your safety.
*It is the student’s responsibility to obtain their Learner’s Permit and they will be required to have this permit in their possession for each driving lesson.

A.D.S. requires a 48 hour advance notice for lesson cancellations. $50 late cancellation fee if less than 48 hours.
